Secret Food Tours Berlin

The best way to explore the history, culture and food across Berlin is with a food tour! Secret Food Tours have a range of tours across Europe and the USA. Including tours in Paris, Barcelona, Rome, New York and many more. I loved this tour and can’t wait to visit more around the world.

This is so much more than a food tour, it’s a chance to learn about the past and present culture of Berlin. Our tour guide Margot was brilliant giving us insider tips and showing us some amazing street art along the way.

Colourful street art BerlinI can’t spoil the locations of the tour as you’ll have to go experience this for yourself but here are some foodie photos to make your mouth water.

Secret Food Tours Berlin Review

Secret Food Tours Berlin - Enjoy the AdventureOur first stop was located in trendy East Berlin, we stopped off for a doner kebab, normally I’m not a fan of these but I loved this one. We each got a chicken schwarma, served with cucumber, tomato, hummus, chili paste and tzatziki. The chicken was really succulent and went well with the creamy sauce and salad. I had this with a glass of Fritz-kola a popular German soft drink similar to Coke. At most of the stops you have the option to get a drink such as a beer, wine or soft drink.

Spaetzle German Mac'n'Cheese in BerlinOur next stop we had spaetzle, this is very similar to mac and cheese, it tasted amazing so rich and creamy and topped with crunchy onions. I enjoyed this dish so much that I also had it at a traditional German bar called Hofbrauhaus. I’d highly recommend visiting, it’s similar to a famous beer hall that you’d see in Munich. The waiters and waitress’s wear the traditional Bavarian attire and serve pints of beer and German dishes.

Secret Food Tours Berlin - Enjoy the AdventureWe stopped off for some tasty candied nuts, this store sold a variety of sweet and savoury nuts and sweets.

Secret Food Tours Berlin - Enjoy the AdventureNext up was the infamous currywurst, we went to a butchers which had loads of German builders sat outside, you can always tell it’s good quality when locals eat there.

Secret Food Tours Berlin - Enjoy the AdventureAfter seeing some more street art we headed to a vendor selling schnitzel. This was delicious I only had half as by this point I was feeling pretty full.

Cheesecake Berlin Last but not least was the German cheesecake which was very tasty!

I’d highly recommend this food tour, our guide was lovely and we got to see a different side of Berlin. Margot taught us all about the history of Berlin whilst showing us the top foodie locations. If you have any allergies or preferences this tour can cater for them. By the end of the tour if you get too full like I was then you can always ask for smaller portions. The price for the tour is reasonable for the amount of food and drink you get. If you’re a foodie fan looking for the best spots in Berlin then this 3 hour food tour is perfect for you.
