I am a huge chocolate fan so enjoyed trying these Italian chocolates. Baci is a dark chocolate filled with whole and chopped hazelnuts. In Italian Baci means kisses and a kiss if the heart of every love story. Making Baci the perfect gift for saying “I love you the Italian way”
Baci Perugina was created in 1922 in Perugia, a medieval city in the heart of Italy. It all began when a young chocolate maker created a special bonbon for his loved one. It was as exquisite and sweet as a kiss, a bacio, in Italian. This romantic Italian story is the origin of Baci Perugina, icon of quality and symbol of excellence and passion.
I adore the packaging with the dark blue sky filled with stars. Each chocolate is wrapped in silver foil with dark blue stars. Inside each chocolate there is a cute love note which is such a great addition. Here are some of the notes I got:
“Love me for the sake of loving always and forever.”
“Grow old along with me; the best is yet to be.”
Coated in a dark velvety rich chocolate. Each chocolate contains a whole hazelnut at the top. Filled with luxurious milk chocolate and chopped hazelnuts.
They remind me a bit of Ferrero Rocher except the inside is thicker and less creamy. They also come in milk and white chocolate. I really want to try the white chocolates next.

Luxembourg is a small European country surrounded by Belgium, France and Germany it is ranked as one of the wealthiest countries. I hadn’t heard much about it before visiting and was pleasantly surprised by Luxembourg. The city is a UNESCO world heritage city full of fortresses castle and old medieval buildings.
This is a cute little vintage coffee shop with old antique pictures and decor. Nice place to get a drink and relax.
This place does the best hot chocolate and also has amazing decor inside, its so girly and pretty. There are loads of flavour hot chocolates to choose from. I choose strawberry pink pepper which was great but a bit spicy. They bring you a mug of hot milk and chocolate on a spoon which you mix into the milk. This is so much better than a powdered hot chocolate! You also get a mug with whipped cream and a marshmallow. If you love chocolate then you definitely have to visit this place.
Accommodation – Luxembourg City Hostel
This is the only hostel in Luxembourg so if you are on a budget book in advance as it was fully booked when I stayed there in August. I met some people in this hostel but its not overly social. As it is the only hostel there is a mixture of ages and some families staying here.
- Free breakfast – bread, jam, cheese, ham & cereals
- Near city centre – close to fortress with great views
- Cheapest accommodation in Luxembourg
- Lockers – bring padlock with you
- Members of hostelling international get a 3 Euro discount
- Wifi – however you don’t get this in the room only in common areas which is a bit annoying
Such a beautiful fairytale castle that is definitely worth a day trip. To get here from Luxembourg city centre get the train to Ettelbruck then get the 570 bus. The bus stop is opposite the Ettelbruck train station. The whole trip costs 4 euros for a return ticket this includes the bus trip. I went at the end of July and they had a medieval concert here it was amazing! It featured bands and a medieval show with sword fighting. You have to get a cable car up to the castle it only costs a few quid and has amazing views.
Information & Tips
- Currency is Euros
- The train station is about 15 minute walk to the old town, turn right when exiting the station and keep walking straight past the shops

What to do in Brussels
Visit Grand Place
This is the central square of Brussels with beautiful gold buildings. In August there is a massive flower carpet so I will definitely have to visit again to see this.
Comic Strip Walk
There are many comic murals around Brussels, some featuring the Belgian cartoon Tin Tin.
One of the most famous statues in Brussels and also one of the most overrated attractions. The statue is very small, but it is close to the Grand Place and lots of waffle stores.
Mont des Arts viewpoint
I visited this point on a walking tour its worth a visit for the beautiful garden and view of Brussels.
Food & Drink in Belgium
The waffles in Belgium are amazing! So many toppings to choose from although they are pretty messy to eat. I went on a walking tour and the tour guide said locals only get waffles with sugar no other toppings, unless in a restaurant where you can sit down with a knife and fork so it’s less messy. If you go to Belgium you have to try the waffles.
The fries taste so good they are double fried so are very crispy and cooked in beef fat for extra flavour. My favourite place for fries was cafe Georgette which was recommended by a tour guide (address: Rue de la Fourche 37, 1000 Bruxelles, Belgium) Good portion of fries I got them with the Georgette sauce which is mayo mixed with ketchup.
Belgium has some great beers, head to delirium bar which has 3000 beers to choose from!
Accomodation – Brussels 2GO4 Quality Hostel City Centre
Loved the decor in this hostel it is very quirky in the common room. However wasn’t great for solo travellers as was a pretty quiet hostel. I was only here for one night good place if travelling with someone or want a peaceful trip. Good location right near the shops and about 15 minutes from the centre.
