Cologne The Circle 25hours Hotel Review
On our recent trip to Cologne, we stayed at 25hours Hotel The Circle. Having previously visited their hotels in Berlin, Munich and Vienna we were very excited to visit and see the unique and quirky interior that 25hours hotels have to offer. This hotel has a retro-futurism space theme, as soon as you walk in you’re met with bright lights and astronaut and rocket decor.
The reception is always manned which is handy if you need help with anything. Another great thing is that check out is at 12 so you don’t have to rush around in the morning. There’s also a small shop selling some of the toiletries that are supplied in the bathrooms, the hand soap and body lotion both smell amazing! It’s a great shop for souvenirs with items such as jewellery, gin and books.
If you enjoy cycling there are bikes you can rent for reasonable prices. There’s also a cafe with plenty of co working space serving a range of sweet and savoury snacks, coffee and beers.
The rooms
The open plan room had a spacious shower, double bed, table and some shelves and hangers to store your belongings. There’s also a free minibar with beers, water and a couple of snacks, which was a nice bonus. From our room we could see the top of the cathedral which was great. They also provided us with a travel cot for baby Albert and there was plenty of space in the room for this.
Each 25hours hotel has a different theme as this one’s is space so they had a robot toy on the bed. You can purchase the toys in the shop, when we went to the Berlin hotel, we bought the monkey toy as a souvenir.
Breakfast
They have a buffet breakfast with plenty of options such as yoghurt, meat platters, breads, sausage, scrambled egg and bacon. You can also order a couple of items such as shakshouka which was very tasty! There’s also a great coffee machine, fruit juices and a selection of teas to choose from.
Monkey bar
The monkey bar is located on the 8th floor with views overlooking the city. The perfect spot for a cocktail or beer before or after dinner. There’s also a restaurant called NENI serving Middle Eastern dishes, it’s advisable to book as it can get busy.
Sauna
There’s a sauna you can relax in located on the 7th floor, head to reception to get robes for this.
Location
The location of this hotel is great, it’s close to plenty of independent cafes and shops such as Cafe de Paris and it’s only a 15 minute walk to the Cathedral. If driving they have an underground car park which costs €17 a day but the trains to and from the airport are quite reasonable at €3 each way.
