Pho & Bun – Delicious Vietnamese Restaurant in London

When Sam and I were in Berlin, we visited our first Vietnamese restaurant and it was so good that it’s now one of our favourite cuisines. Since moving to London, I’ve been trying to find a good Vietnamese restaurant but so far I have just been to some average ones, that was until I found Pho & Bun in Soho.

Pho & Bun Vietnamese Restaurant Review

Pho & Bun is a casual cafe style restaurant specialising in traditional noodle soups and filled buns. Sam and I visited on a Thursday evening and the place was packed, so do try and book in advance. We were seated downstairs and given the 4 course set menu. From the menu we could choose 2 starters, a main and a pudding. You can also choose a wine, beer or soft drink. I ordered a homemade iced tea and Sam went for a Vietnamese iced coffee. I normally hate coffee but after trying this I’ve now definitely changed my mind, it was creamy and sweet but not overly so.

Starters

To start I went for the Sticky Honey Chicken Wings, the sauce was delicious but as always with wings it was pretty messy. Both Sam and I went for the Crispy Spring Vegetable Rolls served with soy sauce and he also had the lemon and chilli squid which was pretty tasty. The chicken wings were my favourite out of the starters.

Main Course

We then moved onto mains, I went for the rice pot with lemongrass chicken and shiitake mushrooms, it didn’t photograph well but it was super tasty with a mixture of different flavours from the lemongrass, rice and garlic. Sam ordered Vietnamese chicken curry with rice, lettuce salad and fresh herbs, it can also be ordered with Vermicelli instead of rice. The sauce with thick and creamy with a hint of spice

Pudding

Sam ordered the Coconut Snow with Vietnamese milk coffee, this was so delicious, I need to go back to have this myself! I went for the caramel flan which was also amazing, the deserts were quite small but by this point I was pretty full anyway. We really enjoyed our meal and I’d love to go back and try out their Bao Buns as these looked pretty good too!
