Dublin

It makes sense to start with Dublin, not least because it’s where you’ll probably land. Killarney

Killarney is a charming town in County Kerry, towards the southwest of the country. It is the perfect place to relax for a couple of days while enjoying the beauty of nature and a slower

pace of life. Nonetheless, there are still plenty of things to do in Killarney. Whether you’re travelling alone, with your partner, or as a group doesn’t matter. The chance to experience things that many visitors miss out on is very appealing. Climbing the highest mountain peak in the country is certainly a challenge to consider.

Galway

The harbour city on Ireland’s west coast was on the tip of everyone’s tongues after Ed Sheeran’s song on St. Patrick’s Day 2017. Some of the imagery in the song does capture the atmosphere of the city. However, there is Quay Street, Wild Atlantic Way, and a host of other things to see and do. Staying at the Glenlo Abbey will provide a once-in-a-lifetime experience. While choosing this accommodation should not be viewed as essential, a trip to the city is one for your bucket list.

Belfast

If you have the chance to visit both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland in one trip, you should. A trip to Belfast will allow you to explore the Titanic tour and museum, which is a must for every visitor. Other key attractions include the Ulster Museum, CS Lewis Square, and Windsor Park. Whether soaking up the summer sun or enjoying the atmosphere of autumn, 48 hours in Belfast will enhance your trip greatly. Meanwhile, a quick jaunt to Giant’s Causeway will deliver an unforgettable experience too.

Ballintoy Harbour

The small village in County Antrim was one of Northern Ireland’s hidden gems. However, it has enjoyed a significant increase in interest since featuring in Game of Thrones. While it is one of over two dozen locations used for the series, its picturesque horizons makes it the standout area. Meanwhile, it is home to one of Ireland’s most striking churches while you may also spot dolphins off the coast. Keen photographers are particularly fond of the area, but it has something for all.
