A guide to visiting Tenerife in spring
Whilst the Canary Islands are at their busiest during the summer months, the mild temperatures throughout the seasons lend themselves to year-round travel. Tenerife in particular is one such island which can boast the conditions to attract holiday-makers at all times of the year.

Why visit in the spring?
During the spring, the popular southern resorts like Los Cristianos and Costa Adeje will be less crowded than in the summer months. This will allow you to have a more relaxing, laid-back holiday without having to worry about waking up early to reserve your sunbed for the day.
The stunning selection of beaches across the island will also have a more relaxed atmosphere, and with sea temperatures averaging 20°C in April and May, it’s the perfect time for a beach retreat. If you’re looking to chase the warmest weather on the island, head to the south, which is typically one of the hottest regions in the Canaries at this time of year.
You will also find that many local businesses begin trading again in the spring after shutting their doors for the winter period. So if you’re looking to indulge in some tourist activities, be it jetskiing, scuba diving, or whale watching, you won’t be short of opportunities to try something new.
Easter in Tenerife
Across the Easter period, the island comes to life, with parades, customs and reenactments all celebrating Semana Santa (Holy Week).

This time of year does typically bring with it an influx of tourists heading to the island, but you will still find that attractions and restaurants are much quieter than in the summer.

Head to Siam Park in Adeje, Europe’s biggest waterpark, and savour the shorter queues as you enjoy their extensive catalogue of water slides and attractions in a whole new way.
For anyone with an interest in outer space, heading to Mount Teide during your Tenerife adventure is a must. Here you will be treated to some of the best and clearest views of the constellations and planets lighting up the night sky.
Hiking enthusiasts will be all too eager to explore the island at this time of year, too. With temperatures being slightly milder but still favourable, the conditions for trekking are perfect, so be sure to take on the miles of hiking routes which zig-zag across the island.
