Heading to Florida? Check out these simple travel tips
Got a holiday planned to America’s Sunshine State? Millions of holidaymakers head to Florida every single year and it’s easy to see why. Glorious sunshine, world famous theme parks, beaches and parties! There really is something for everyone!
Whether you’re heading there as a solo traveler, as a couple, with your family or your friends there’s an incredible amount to see and do. You definitely won’t get to experience it all in one trip.
For visitors heading to the sunshine state for the first time, there are a few things you need to know so you can stay safe and stay out of trouble – if you’re looking for a Florida law firm, click the link. So, with this in mind, I’ve gathered some simple travel tips that will help you make the most of your trip to Florida.
The weather
Florida is known for its almost tropical climate, which is great for holidaymakers, but it comes at a cost. Florida’s rainiest season starts from May and lasts until October. So while you’ll certainly be able to enjoy the humidity and high temperatures, you should prefer for a shower or two each day. Something you should bear in mind when you’re packing for your trip. Also, if you plan to visit the state of Florida between June and November, you should keep an eye on the weather for hurricane warnings!
The parks
We’re all familiar with Walt Disney World, possibly the most famous theme park in the world. But, there are other theme parks that will tempt even the most experienced thrill seekers! Check out Volcano Bay or Universal Studios for some truly epic rollercoasters and if you prefer things a little wetter then head to Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach for the very best in world-class waterparks. Don’t forget your swimsuit!
Swimming safely in Florida
With its incredible coastlines and heat, you’ll find it difficult to resist the urge to swim in the lakes, ocean, rivers and other water sports in the area. However, you should exercise caution, as many of these areas are home to alligators, snakes and sharks. Therefore only swim in areas that are monitored by lifeguards and avoid going swimming at night.
Be safe when you’re driving
In some states, the use of a seatbelt is a little lax. However in Florida, if you want to stay on the right side of the law you must wear a seatbelt when in a vehicle.
