Buy a gift race track driving
We recently visited Dunsfold racing track where they film top gear. Sam bought his dad Gary a car race for his birthday. Here’s our experience of the day including some tips and extra info.
You need to arrive half an hour before your slot. When we arrived there was a massive queue already. We arrived at 9 and left at 12, there’s quite a lot of waiting around but once you’ve signed the forms and gone through the safety talk it’s not too bad. You can also add on extra passenger rides if the cars are available. So we added on the aerial atom for me at £20. The atom goes so fast, swerving around the corners and cones, I’d definitely recommend giving this one a go.
Price: The amount of buy a gift is for a weekday one so you’ll have to pay extra for weekends and if there’s specific cars you want to drive it’s extra for that too. They charge more to drive at the Dunfold track too, so all the extra charges do add up! The insurance is £25, if you haven’t purchased this and you do cause any damage to the car it may end up costing you £5000! There’s plenty of cars to choose from such as the BMW or aerial atom.
Top tips: If you are going to watch you’ll probably be waiting around for ages so bring a foldable chair or blanket to sit on. There’s also an area for drinks and food or you can bring your own.
