Dubai bucket list

In May, I’m visiting Dubai and I really can’t wait to explore this city! Dubai is a dazzling cosmopolitan centre known for its lavish hotels, modern architecture and luxury shopping. Here are some things I want to do in Dubai and some hotel recommendations:

Dubai bucket list experiences

Burj Khalifa

The Burj Khalifa stands at 828 metres high making it the tallest tower in the world! You can book tickets to visit the observation decks for amazing views of Dubai’s skyline. You can also book to have meals or afternoon tea at the At.mosphere restaurant on level 122.

Drive a dune buggy across the desert

Less than 20 minutes from the modern streets of Dubai you can experience the incredible Arabian desert. Take an exhilarating adventure driving a dune buggy across the desert.

Sandboarding

If your looking for another adventurous activity you could try sandboarding in the desert.

Luxury shopping

Right next to the Burj Khalifa is the Dubai Mall where you can spend the day shopping. With a staggering 1,200 shops and 150 restaurants they’ll be plenty to see there. The mall is also home to a huge indoor waterfall, ice rink and the Dubai Aquarium.

Visit Dubai Aquarium

This 10 million litre aquarium is the largest in the world, it’s home to thousands of aquatic animals with over 140 different species.

Palm Jumeirah

When you see photos of Dubai, you’re likely to see this man-made palm tree island. This island is one of the largest artificial islands in the world. The island is home to many high-end hotels such as Waldorf Astoria and Atlantis.

Wander around Dubai’s Miracle Garden

Explore this beautiful garden which features over 50 million different flowers, this is a great location for photos.

Take a trip to Dubai’s Love Lakes

Visit the lakes to see two man-made lakes which have been made into the shape of a heart. Love has even been spelt out by the trees next to it.

Where to stay

There’s so many luxurious hotels to stay at, I’m staying at the Amwaj Rotana, but will definitely be going to visit the Atlantis hotel.

Atlantis: The Palm

This 5 star hotel looks incredible, it’s famous for its magnificent scale and range of attractions. The hotel is located by the beach and it even has its own aquarium and waterpark. The waterpark is one of the only places on earth where you can zip through a water tunnel while sharks and stingrays swim above you! You’ll never get bored at this hotel with its 23 dining options, tennis court, spa and swimming pools.

Waldorf Astoria

Situated on the incredible Palm Jumeirah island this 5 star hotel overlooks a private sandy beach and hosts plenty of family activities such as fishing, tennis and parasailing. Escape from the hustle and bustle at the spa offering 2 private couple suites which are perfect for a romantic getaway.

Jumeirah Beach hotel

This stunning hotel is a great choice for the family with its huge array of leisure facilities. Sinbad’s kids club, a climbing wall and Wild Wadi Waterpark will be sure to keep the kids entertained. There’s something for everyone at this hotel with 6 swimming pools, a private beach and luxury spa. There’s even 21 different restaurants to choose from so you’ll be spoilt for choice.
