Must Haves For Your Next Trip

With the worldwide halt on international travel, most of us have all been unable to satisfy our wanderlust for over a year. Although the future of travel still looks relatively uncertain, slowly more and more countries are opening up igniting a bit of hope in those of us desperate to get on the road again. So, in case you have forgotten all the essentials you’ll need, here’s a reminder of some must haves for your next trip. Whenever that may be.

1. Sunglasses – this seems like an obvious one but if you want to travel out to get some sun, in all the excitement you might forget you need to protect your eyes from those harmful UV rays. And if you need prescription glasses, it would be a great idea to splash out on prescription sunglasses as well. Many glasses wearers know the struggle of having to choose between being able to see and protecting their eyes from the sun – prescription sunglasses are a serious game changer and a must have when travelling. Check out the range of prescription sunglasses at EyeBuyDirect.com for a huge variety of colours and styles at a price that won’t eat through your travel budget.

2. Documentation – make sure you always have a copy of your passport, any visas you need, insurance documentation, ID cards and always keep a pen on your person to be ready to fill out customs forms or any other forms you might come across on your travels.

3. Cash – keep some local currency on you at all times as an emergency fund, keep a stash somewhere a thief is unlikely to ever think to look. You should try to use a travel card or travel friendly credit card to make your transactions abroad to save yourself from carrying large amounts of cash.

4. Electrical essentials – not only will you need your phone and camera chargers but if you are travelling abroad you will need to take at least one travel adapter with you so you plug your chargers into foreign plug sockets. It would be advisable to take a couple of adapters with you so you can use more than one electrical item at a time. Portable chargers are also an invaluable gadget for travellers, as you don’t want to be left stranded somewhere with a dead cell phone.

5. Flying must haves – whether it is a long-haul or short-haul flight, travelling via plane can be an uncomfortable experience if you are not appropriately prepared. Make sure you have earplugs, an eye mask and a neck pillow in your carry on so you can get some sleep if needs be. You can even get compact inflatable neck pillows that will take up no room in your luggage.

Anti-bacterial wipes and eye drops ensure you can immediately relieve some discomfort without having to shuffle your way to the airplane bathroom. You should always have something to occupy you on a plane as you can start to feel somewhat trapped unless you have something to distract yourself – if it’s a short-haul flight they might not have any inflight entertainment available to you. Bring headphones so you can listen to music, or a book or a magazine to eat away the time.
